New Local Music - Chromatics, Glass Candy, Exploding Hearts, The Revisions and more!

Thanks to Adam of Chromatics fame we're proud to present 2 new titles available for purchase at 2013! They are (in alphabetical order):

Chromatics- IV (italians do it better)
Imagine the cure or early new order playing a very dark, slow and lush disco music with an american nico singing and some excellent ambient synth interludes. These jams have been banging all summer at my house. We're all in love with this group and I'm sure you will be too when you hear them.

Glass Candy- b/e/a/t/b/o/x/ (italians do it better)
This cd has been kicking my ass!!!! Glass Candy is the product of Ida No and Johnny Jewel (who plays bass and programs for chromatics). This is probably the tightest dance record I've heard in an age. These fools are making the kind of music that you would have wanted to hear at a club in NYC ca: 1983. It sounds ageless and sweet as hell. The art (as with the chromatics cd) is top notch and quite striking, really. All in all- I'm in love with it. Oh- and ps. the versions of the songs on the cd are faster and better than the demos you may have heard online. Anyway- don't miss out!

Another huge round of applause goes to Ken at Dirtnap records/Green Noise out of Southeast PDX for hooking up some excellent local punk/powerpop for your pretty little eardrums!

We've got both Exploding Hearts records on LP and "guitar romantic" on CD. I would guess that most people here will have heard this band, but just in case you haven't I might describe them as being one of the greatest, snappiest, punk/powerpop bands ever. Kindof glammy, kindof mod revival sounding pop that generally reminds me of "stay free" by the clash. Pretty much classic and a good pick me up type of record for the morning's fuel. (?) ; )

Also courtesy of Dirtnap we've got The Revisions lp and 7" (Observers/Clorox Girls/ Red Dons kids playing anthemic and inspiring punk music with acoustic guitars. It feels like portland to me, and no matter what you fools say you love this place as much as I do or you would find some way to leave. ; )

We also have the triggers lp, the first epoxies cd and the busy signals lp (sure they're not local, but they are awesome. ; )

Anyway- There's more sweet local music on the way (among other things; we'll soon have some DANAVA and some Oakhelm for you fell bangers of the night, hopefully a bunch of stuff from Feral Ward for the filthy punx and Improv Logic CDs for you kids with your rap music and your pondering the universe...)
Either way- you should pop in and check this stuff out or just come and say hi... Also if you have a band or have made a really sweet record/cd/tape get in touch and we'll try to figure something out...

I mean... Word Up.
love,
Alex.
