Not even a week after its manufacture, Newspapers' EP, Lakeview, is here and it is a gem cut from the rich history of indie music made here under the gray skies. Six songs of rocking melodics, that move swiftly - imagine walking by a house, hearing the band through a screen door, and being drawn to walk up the steps and introduce yourself. Immediately comfortable because the music speaks to you directly, the lyrics are honest and the rhythms engaging. The EP holds garage riffs, pop melodies and that undeniable feeling that we had better fall in love while we still can.
2013 is a retail shop located on 30th and East Burnside in sunny Portland Oregon. We stock a continuously rotating selection of locally made goods, including exclusive clothing from local designers , music from local labels, zines, used records and books, jewelry, inscense and everything else you might need, right down to organic socks. Stop by and check it out, look for the red and black storefront with the records and zines in the window.

Eskimo & Sons EP
Eskimo & Sons are a young bunch of earnest pop minstrels who apply their sweet vision to our dystopian reality. Their live shows have garnered much attention recently - vocalist Danielle Sullivan lures the audience into their world with her fluid tones. The band grounds her floating voice with subtle melodies and laid back rhythms, and the lyrics speak in honest metaphor. This disc feels like sharing a drink on someones back porch at dusk. Shared conversation, poetic tangents, and that undercurrent knowledge that we are all here together, figuring it out and growing at the same time.

Nate Powell comics are good for you
We currently have a few copies of two great comics from Nate Powell.
Please Release is a short collection of self-reflective stories that let us into Nate's world of working with developmentally disabled adults, while sparring with existence as a punk approaching thirty. Walkie Talkie contains the second part of his "satelite worlds" story as collected in the Tiny Giants book. Nate's line work has earned him a rep as one of the most promising young cartoonists of his era, and his personal stories speak to the human in us all.
